Ranger vs ATV plowing

Ranger vs ATV plowing
I have plowed with several ATV's that I have owned over the years and now with the midsize Ranger. Here are my thoughts both ways.
ATV plowing pluses:
1. Easier to see the edges of the plow
2. Easier to judge the edges of the machine in close quarters
3. Winch control better located on handle bar than hand held control
4. A little quicker to be able to change blade angle not having to open the door and climb out and in the Ranger
5. Less engine noise with no cab
Ranger plowing pluses:
1. I like shifting with my right hand vs left on the ATV
2. Much better traction even in turf mode vs standard 2 wheel drive of ATV
3. Without question, with the cab, much more cozy than the ATV in the open
4. Really nice to have a cup holder to hold your favorite beverage while plowing
5. Ability to drive one handed is a plus
6. With the cab, I have the ability to plow for longer periods of time, all day would be no big deal
7. The head lights seem to be less obstructed from the blade
8. Can't tell for sure yet, but seems like the Ranger stays more planted, doesn't try to slide sideways with a full blade of snow when the plow is angled
9. The bench seat is better in the Ranger than the motorcycle style seat of the ATV
Ways to make the Ranger even better:
1- Really need the uprights at the edges of the plow. Can't see them when it is angled and lowered
2- The heater is ordered and they tried to deliver it today, nobody home to sign for it. I will have it Monday. Once this is installed, AWESOME
3- Wish I had a power angle set up for the plow
4. I need to get a longer wiper blade so it clears where I actually look out
Both the Ranger and ATV have their good and bad points for sure. I know there are more than what I have listed above. These are just my first impressions while plowing this morning with the Ranger.
I can say that I much more enjoy plowing with the Ranger even without the heater. Once I get the heater it may take even longer to plow. There are two cup holders after all.

Re: Ranger vs ATV plowing
Well the heater has been installed now for some time. I can truly say that it is now enjoyable to plow with the side x side. Even at 0*F it is comfy in the cab of the Ranger. Would not go back to a quad for plowing, period!! Also with some more experience with the Ranger, judging the plow on the front is easier and now it is like second nature.
